Tree species and microhabitat affect forest bog spider fauna

چکیده
Abstract Peat bogs are among the most threatened habitats in Central Europe. They characterized by stagnant water with low pH and lower nutrient content compared to surrounding habitats. The flora fauna of peat comprised many habitat specialist rare species. We explored differences spider European spruce Scots pine forests. Furthermore, we assessed effect microhabitat diversity bog forests Poiana Stampei complex, Bucovina, Romania. collected numerous cold-adapted .We found a strong forest type, presumably due different microclimatic conditions had species richness ground-dwelling than forests; however, contradictory results for vegetation-dwelling richness. Hummocks more positive on spiders forests, open structure sphagnum hummocks ground level. However, this was negative vegetation dwellers. restricted ranges vulnerable climate change, may serve as important micro-refugia them. isolated highly anthropogenic activities, such drainage, extraction, eutrophication. deterioration quality will result significant loss regional pool Carpathians.

Tree species, tree genotypes and tree genotypic diversity levels affect microbe-mediated soil ecosystem functions in a subtropical forest
Tree species identity and tree genotypes contribute to the shaping of soil microbial communities. However, knowledge about how these two factors influence soil ecosystem functions is still lacking. Furthermore, in forest ecosystems tree genotypes co-occur and interact with each other, thus the effects of tree genotypic diversity on soil ecosystem functions merit attention. Here we investigated ...
متن کاملMoeed and Meads: Invertebrate Fauna of Four Tree Species
Tree trunks are important links between the forest floor and canopy, especially for flightless invertebrates that move from the forest floor to feed or breed in the canopy. Traps were used to sample invertebrates moving up and down on mahoe (Melicytus ramiflorus), hinau (Elaeocarpus dentatus), hard beech (Nothofagus truncata), and kamahi (Weinmannia racemosa). In 19 months 22 696 invertebrates ...
متن کاملDominant Tree Species and Soil Type Affect the Fungal Community Structure in a Boreal Peatland Forest.
Boreal peatlands play a crucial role in global carbon cycling, acting as an important carbon reservoir. However, little information is available on how peatland microbial communities are influenced by natural variability or human-induced disturbances. In this study, we have investigated the fungal diversity and community structure of both the organic soil layer and buried wood in boreal forest ...
متن کاملNitrogen and phosphorus additions negatively affect tree species diversity in tropical forest regrowth trajectories.
Nutrient enrichment is increasingly affecting many tropical ecosystems, but there is no information on how this affects tree biodiversity. To examine dynamics in vegetation structure and tree species biomass and diversity, we annually remeasured tree species before and for six years after repeated additions of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) in permanent plots of abandoned pasture in Amazonia. ...
